PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS with Peter Lorber & Courtenay Gilbert

Glacier National Park, Montana

July 23-29, 2017

Within the majestic peaks of Montana’s Rocky Mountains lies a place where once towering behemoths of ice roamed the land, carving into the earth valleys and hidden lakes that await to be discovered. Although these glaciers may have melted away their reign long ago, their striking mark has led to the formation of Glacier National Park, a photographer’s wonderland waiting to be explored. The snow-capped towering peaks of the Rockies nestle sweeping meadows, expansive forests and lakes so serene the sky can claim it as its mirror. Each winding trail leads to one picturesque gem after another, guiding you to a piece of untampered nature waiting for a camera to bring it to life.

The crescendo of natural beauty is not halted once the day comes to a close, for then comes your stay at the acclaimed Many Glacier Hotel and Lake McDonald Lodge. During the week of July 23 through 29, 2017, the first half of your experience will be spent at the Many Glacier Hotel. With its rustic, cabin-like face, it blends perfectly into the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake so that one could forget that the glaciers did not forge it there themselves. As the partner in this hotel duo, Lake McDonald Lodge is difficult to rival in its wilderness authenticity. With the spirit of the forest permeating both its interior and exterior, the lodge provides the premier complement to days spent experiencing all that Glacier National Park has to offer.

We have carefully planned this workshop to get you to the most picturesque locations at the perfect times to capture these iconic landscapes during the best light.

And as in all of our workshops we enjoy great restaurants, stay in upscale accommodations, and share lots of laughter while surrounded by breathtaking scenery. This makes our workshops perfect not only for you the photographer, but also for your non-photographer travel partner looking for an amazing vacation!

Who and What

Our photography workshops are for discriminating photography enthusiasts of all skill levels.

We provide the perfect environment for you to combine your love of travel and passion for photography while surrounded by like minded people in a fun, relaxed and creative atmosphere.

This workshop is led by Peter Lorber, a master panoramic photographer, and Courtenay Gilbert, a professional photographer, post production specialist. They will work with you to expand and improve your photography skills. They will also show you how to create technically perfect and artistically stunning panoramic images using various panoramic VR drives from manual heads to the top of the line Seitz Roundshot motorized VR drive. You will learn how to stitch your panoramas using professional stitching programs such as PTgui and, finally, how to optimize your images in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

You will also have the opportunity to shoot with the latest Hasselblad H6D-50C medium format digital camera and a variety of Hasselblad lenses and accessories. Both Peter and Courtenay are Hasselblad trained professionals and have been training top photographers for over ten years.

Hasselblad, Nikon, Canon and other brand shooters will benefit from Peter and Courtenay’s over one hundred years of combined photography experience. They will share tips, techniques and camera set-ups learned over time.

Our small group sizes allow us to customize our workshops to your individual needs. We make sure you get the personal attention you need to get the most out of your time with us.

In addition to guided photo shoots, we will also spend time working on the amazing images you will capture during the workshop. We will go over organizing your images, learning proper stitching techniques and answer any Photoshop and Lightroom questions you may have.

This workshop is designed for the advanced beginner, intermediate and advanced photography enthusiast interested in taking great photos in beautiful locations and having an amazing photography workshop vacation!

This is not a workshop where you spend most of your daylight shooting hours sitting in a classroom. We get you up and out to make the most of each and every day to capture as many great photo opportunities as possible.
