Our success as a business is a result of our evolution, which began with world-renowned panoramic photographer Peter Lorber printing his super-sized fine art prints in a self-built warehouse darkroom. Encouraged by fellow photographers who were disappointed with the printing quality of local labs and awed by the beauty of Peter's prints, Peter and his wife Addie, who was a teacher at the time, decided to open Custom Photo Images, a professional photo lab, in Boca Raton in September 1991.
Soon after opening, Courtenay Gilbert, a photographer, printer, and designer, joined the team and became Peter's creative partner. As the business grew, we added custom framing to our services. With Courtenay's keen eye for design and our expert framers, we provide our clients with the perfect custom frame for their specific needs and budget. We also offer special pricing for artists and designers.
Over the years, Custom Photo Images has continued to evolve. What started as a darkroom and film processing operation has become a full-service digital lab, photography studio, and in-house custom framing.
Peter, Addie, and Courtenay work as a tight-knit group and strive to provide our customers with beautiful images, the highest quality products, and professional service.

Peter Lorber has established himself as a globally renowned panoramic photographer. Throughout his career, he has captured stunning scenic images using a range of cameras, including the Fujifilm 617 camera, Kodak Cirkut camera, Roundshot 360° rotational cameras, and others.
Peter's exceptional work has been featured in numerous publications, showcased in exhibitions, and displayed worldwide. Additionally, he has become a highly respected speaker and judge within the photography industry.

Addie, a native Ohioan and former teacher of many years in Canada as well as Florida, is responsible for the evolution of Custom Photo Images from Peter's single darkroom into the thriving photography lab, studio, and custom framing shop it is today. She is renowned for her Midwestern warmth, abundant supply of patience, and exceptional customer service

While Courtenay Gilbert has been at Custom Photo and Framing for thirty years, her photography career began at the age of ten when she first stepped foot in a darkroom. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts, specializing in fine art, fashion photography, and design. After honing her skills in photography and makeup artistry in New York City, she relocated to South Florida in 1991 with her camera in hand.
Individually and in partnership with Peter Lorber, her fine art photography has been published, sold and exhibited across the world. Adapting from her youthful darkroom days, Courtenay has become a photoshop and printing expert. With her unparalleled creative vision and passion for innovation, Courtenay has established herself as an ambitious artist and will continue to inspire all for years to come.
